Couch Potatoes

My office is closed this week so it’s sort of been a mandatory vacation. Not that I’m complaining. I’d been working more hours than normal lately so it’s a welcome break. As this week was getting closer I was thinking of all the things I would have time to get done. Like finish painting my kitchen cabinets, for instance. Of course I’m the Procrastination Queen and  it’s already Thursday night so that’s not gonna happen. I did get the grass mowed. And I chopped down some weeds around the backyard bushes that were taller than me, so at least it doesn’t look like our house is occupied by meth addicts.

So what have I been doing with all the other time? Mostly reading, eating, and sleeping. I think I subconsciously decided to embrace the vacation vibe and before I knew it, it was suddenly Thursday.

The mini-potato crawled under the cushion on her own during one of the few times it was not occupied by yours truly. The rest of the time she was on my lap or near my feet. Cats are great. Please ignore the hideousness of the couch as it becomes holey and falls apart.

I’m currently reading Eleven on Top. Yes.

Saturday Morning

I feel cranky when the weekend is over. It always goes by too fast. Saturday morning was perfect.

Sleeping in with hubby and Penny…

… and a good book.

My first post

My first post on my first blog. I hope it’s not too boring.

A little bit about me:

I’m nerdy. I took classes in high school that would ensure I got a special honors diploma. I wish I would have taken more art.

I procrastinate. A lot. I’ll write more about that later.

I’m married. We have a cat. She is referred to as “your child” when she does something crazy, as cats do. (“Your child just threw up on the rug.” “Your child just knocked over the Wii.”)

I didn’t know what I should study in college so after high school so I learned on the job as a dental assistant and I enjoyed it. I still do. Then while scrubbing the office floors one day I suddenly decided if I want to have more time at home as a mom one day I should really consider becoming a hygienist. So I did. And I graduated. And now my debt has delayed my attempt at getting preggers. Life happens, be-otch! Well, to be a little serious for a sec, there’s many factors, but lack of money is definitely one. We all have our problems and I hope this blog will be a way to vent, and share, and a reminder to embrace all that we do have and not focus on what we don’t.
